Porsche Design Tec Flex – my first pen

My First Porsche Design Tecflex Pen: A Precious Graduation Gift

When I graduated from high school at 18, my parents gifted me a beautiful Porsche Design Tecflex pen. It was my first proper pen, and I was thrilled to have such a luxurious writing tool.

At first, I found it challenging to get used to the weight of the pen. It was heavier than any pen I had used before, but I quickly adapted to its weight and loved the way it felt in my hand.

The Porsche Design Tecflex pen is a stunning writing instrument that features a flexible stainless steel mesh that covers the barrel of the pen. The mesh is not only an eye-catching design element, but it also provides a comfortable grip and protects the pen from scratches.

This pen used to be manufactured by Faber Castell, and it was of higher quality. However, the production later switched to Pelikan, and the pen’s quality suffered. The material of the pen started to peel off, and it was no longer as durable as before. You can still find the older, higher quality Faber Castell versions on the market by recognizing the PORSCHE DESIGN engraving on the pen’s body. The newer Pelikan version only has the logo printed on it.

Despite the change in production, the Porsche Design Tecflex pen remains a beautiful and versatile writing instrument that is perfect for everyday use. The pen is activated by pressing the entire body, which causes the pen’s fibers to collapse and lock in place, revealing the pen’s tip.

The pen uses standard rollerball refills, and it accommodates classic ballpoint refills. Overall, the Porsche Design Tecflex pen is an exceptional writing instrument that is both stylish and functional. It holds a special place in my heart as a cherished graduation gift and an exquisite writing tool that I enjoy using every day.
