ABOUT THE PEN:

The Montblanc Writers Edition 2021 is dedicated to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, one of the most renowned crime novelists and originator of the famous British sleuth, Sherlock Holmes. The Limited Edition writing instruments are made from blue-grey precious resin, evoking the sinister, foggy atmosphere of London, where Sherlock Holmes famously solved his cases. The cap and barrel of this edition are decorated with a plaid pattern in reference to Holmes’ coat, as well as parts of a historic London city map. The initials JB are found beneath the PVD-coated, magnifying glass-shaped clip in an homage to Joseph Bell: the very real man behind the Sherlock Holmes character. The handcrafted 18K gold nib is engraved with flying dinosaurs from The Lost World around a portrait of Sir Arthur. The Limited Edition 1902 is made from brown precious lacquer, a reference to Holmes’ smoking pipe that is also reflected in the wooden cap and cone. Cap and barrel are decorated with a plaid pattern as well as parts of a historic London map. Inspired by the magnifying glass used by Sherlock Holmes, the clip includes a silhouette of a hound made from photoluminescent pigments alluding to The Hound of the Baskervilles. The hand- crafted 18K gold nib is engraved with a portrait of Sir Arthur and a magnifying glass.
